Collection: Something happened in the Lounge

Something happened... is HERSOID’s unsettling domestic series: a collection of strange interior scenes where collapse happens quietly inside rooms that are far too decorative for what they are witnessing.

Across the series, bodies slump over sofas, spill from chairs, lie across patterned carpets, or disappear into the furniture altogether. Children stand nearby. Cats pass through. Birds perch where heads should be. The wallpaper remains cheerful, repetitive, and almost offensively composed. Nothing in the room seems shocked, which is precisely where the discomfort begins.

Rendered in HERSOID’s signature hand-drawn linework, muted washes, retro patterns, and dry visual humour, Something happened... turns the living room into a small theatre of domestic failure. These works sit between surreal figurative art, dark comedy, psychological interiors, and vintage-patterned unease.

This collection is for collectors drawn to strange home scenes, dark domestic humour, retro wallpaper aesthetics, surreal bodies, and contemporary art that makes ordinary rooms feel quietly unsafe.
