Artist’s note:
Two children stand arm in arm inside a drawn circle while a severed animal head lies near the edge of the shape. The circle turns the beach into a site, which is what humans do when they need the ordinary world to become more obedient. Baphomet keeps using bones, heads, animals, and children to show how quickly meaning can be arranged from almost nothing. The children smile as if posing for a family photograph. The head has not been consulted.
