Collection: Clowns

The Last Laugh is HERSOID’s clown series: a darkly comic collection of works set against burning cars, oil fires, fading landscapes, industrial smoke, and the strange theatre of ecological ruin.

Across the series, the clown becomes more than a performer. He is a mascot for denial, a witness to collapse, and a small, painted figure standing inside disasters much larger than himself. Some are bewildered. Some are smiling. None of them appear especially equipped for the end of the world, which is rather the point.

Rendered in expressive graphite, soft digital colour, halftone textures, and vintage poster-like compositions, these works sit somewhere between tragicomedy and environmental unease. The skies remain pastel. The fires continue. The clown, professionally or foolishly, carries on.

This collection is for those drawn to surreal figurative art, dark humour, climate anxiety, theatrical absurdity, and the uncomfortable comedy of watching society perform happiness while everything quietly gives way.
